TIME FOR A NEW BED?
Why and when you should purchase yourself a new bed...

When your bed is no longer providing proper support and comfort, it may well be effecting your sleep. Many people are unaware that their bed maybe one of the reasons they haven't been sleeping well.

What you must remember is that beds do not last forever - the life span of your mattress depends on a number of factors such as the quality, care, amount of use (e.g. If you use your bed for reading a lot, or lying on to work etc.)

You might also not no that the lifespan of a bed or mattress can greatly depend on lifestyle changes, such as losing or gaining weight, ageing etc.

It might be time for a new mattress if...

  • You wake up with aches and pains, which gradually wear off as the day progresses
  • You are not sleeping as well as a year or two ago
  • You get a better night's sleep elsewhere apart from your own bed
  • Your mattress shows clearly visible signs of wearing and tearing
  • You can feel a difference in your mattress (a common problem is spring's 'popping' through into your back
Getting yourself a new bed may not be a magical cure to all of your sleeping problems, but we can assure you, it will definately help you get a better night's sleep and leave you feeling fresh and alert when you awake.

We have literally hundreds of beds for you to choose from. Remember, there is not a 'perfect' bed that is particular for everybody, each and every mattress is different. For advice on which mattress we think would suit you, please feel free to select the live support option to the right of this page, where you will talk to an experienced sales assistant that works in our retail shop based in Barwell, Leicestershire!

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT BED:
Here are just a few pointers to consider when purchasing a new bed...

Type of Bed: What sort of bed would you prefer? What do you like or dislike about your current bed? Would you prefer a firmer or softer bed than the one you are sleeping on at the moment?

Price Range: Always shop for the best value bed, not the lowest price. Yes, of course, there are some lower priced beds available, but the better the construction, fillings and springs have a massive impact on the comfort and support, as well as hugely effecting the lifespan of the bed or mattress.

Size: One of the most common complaints is being disturbed by a partner whilst sleeping. With a larger bed, you are much less likely to disturb eachother at night, leading to a much better night sleep. You should measure whether or not your bed is big enough by lying on the bed with you and your partner's hands behind your head without touching. If your elbows touch, then it is likely that you need a bigger bed.

Your bed should also be 4 - 6 inches longer than the tallest person. Anybody over 6ft should consider a custom bed longer than standard. For special size beds please feel free to talk to a representitive live by clicking the live support button to the right.

Also you must consider the bed's height - most bedsteads are lower than that of a divan base with drawers as the extra space is needed for storage.
